You always hear horror stories about the New York City subway - how massive, complex and confusing it is - and honestly, as a metro-deprived Seattle-ite, I am openly intimidated. Assuming you can even get to the underground, being able to a) figure out where you're going, b) find a map, c) find a route, d) find the right stop and the fun doesn't end there! Once you're on the train (and you have to assume you won't be lucky enough to find a car with the miniature route map with illuminated lights indicating stops passed and approaching) you have to try to remember your stop, be able to hear and/or read it-- the whole experience can be totally overwhelming. But fear no more! You no longer need to steel yourself for the subway, a refill of Valium in your coatpocket! Just keep one of these pocket maps in your wallet and you are good to go - riding off into the subterranean sunset.
In any case, having had a similar experience with the Paris metro this summer, I have an utter appreciation for these little guys. Stainless steel (won't get mushy or tear!) and the size of a credit card (to fit neatly in your wallet!) these just might be god's (or Suck UK's) gift to underground travelers everywhere (or at least in Paris, London and Manhattan...)

And slightly more practical than Suck UK's OTHER Tube map...

Also, as I examined the miniature Tube map, it unabashedly conjured Neil Gaimon's Neverwhere :)
